New novel. Plugging away. Always seem to be able to remember small character names when they pop back up in the story. But this new novel is kind of two stories in one. Following the kids of my main characters from novel #1, I've put them in two different theaters of WW2 and I'm jumping back and forth. I think this one could have used a little extra planning.
It's been an unusually long and cold winter up here in Calgary this year. Nights dropping into the -20C range and only a few chinooks to break away from the cold. This was an ideal month to curl up with a good book or two (or three or four). For me, it has been the hard slog through research and story development for the third book in my Rainey Chronicles series, Dark Before Light. I'm about a quarter the way through the first draft and I'm hoping to have it published by June (not holding my breath, though). For March, I have another book signing on March 10 at the Indigo Signal Hill store and The Locket will again be part of an online 99 cent promotion March 23 to 27.
It's a new year and time for new books. The Great Celt was published last October. I did my first book signing for it on January 6 and will be doing my second on February 3, 2018 at the Signal Hill Indigo store in Calgary. A collection of short stories related to The Great Celt and The Locket are currently being promoted for free at the Historical Fiction January White Sale on Book Funnel. You can download these free stories and others at books.bookfunnel.com/januarywhitesale
